Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany Osaka-Kobe visits the University (Nov. 19, 2021)

 Mr. Martin Eberts, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany Osaka-Kobe visited the University and had a discussion with President Nishida. Vice President Ushikubo and Prof. Till Weber (Faculty of Global and Regional Studies) who has served as the Honorary Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany in Nishihara (Okinawa) for a number of years also attended the discussion. This past July, Mr. Eberts gave an online lecture on “Germany in the Indo-Pacific Region – balancing National, European and Global issues” to our students and faculty members. And President Nishida and Vice President Ushikubo expressed their appreciation for his contribution. During the discussion, they exchanged opinions on the resumption of People-to-People exchange which had been curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as on student and academic exchanges, and they have agreed that we will work together for active exchanges.
