Notification: Emergency Measures to Control the Rapid Spread of COVID-19 Infection and Protect the Lives of the Residents of the Prefecture (Okinawa Prefecture Response Policy)

We would like to show our sincere appreciation to all of you for your understanding and cooperation to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Government of Okinawa Prefecture has announced its request “Emergency Measures to Control the Rapid Spread of COVID-19 infection and Protect the lives of the Residents of the Prefecture (Okinawa Prefecture Response Policy)”, for the period from Friday, July 22 to Sunday, August 14, and we ask you to check it and comply with the policy.

For this request, the following measures have been added in addition to the previous request “A Request to the People in Okinawa ~Practice Infection Prevention Measures You have Acquired”.

 1  Refrain from unnecessary outings as much as possible.

 2  The number of people dining or drinking together should be no more than 4 people, no longer than 2 hours, and masks should be worn during    conversations.

 3  Refrain from commuting work and schools, outings, and social gatherings if you have any symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough, runny   
   nose, etc.

 4  COVID-19 vaccination recommendation

 5  Refrain from going to an emergency hospital for mild illnesses or for examination purposes, and always keep fever reducer at home.

 More than 5,000 new cases of infection are confirmed for consecutive days in the prefecture, and it’s not surprising that anyone could become infected at any time. We ask students, faculty, and staff members to prepare for home treatment, and confirm the procedures of going to the hospital and contacting to the University.

 Okinawa Prefecture State of Medical Emergency has been announced due to acute strains on its medical system from COVID-19 pandemic. We ask you to continue giving special consideration to the prevention measures.
