To Students, Faculty and Staff Members,

Risk Management Headquarters
(for COVID-19 infection Control)
University of the Ryukyus

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of you for your understanding and cooperation to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Government of Okinawa Prefecture has announced its request of infection prevention measures “A Request to the People in Okinawa ~ Practice Infection Prevention Measures You Have Acquired.” (Japanese webpage only) effective from Friday, June 24.

The request is the revised version of the previous request from the Government of Okinawa Prefecture that some restrictions, dining together or club activities, etc., have been eased.

We ask all students and faculty and staff members, based on the request, to please continue to take measures against infectious diseases while conducting academic, educational, research and other activities.
In the event of health care system collapse in the future, measures will be strengthened, and we will notify you as it happens.

Please refer to the following points to be noted (the points different from the previous policy of the Government of Okinawa Prefecture).

1. Dining Together
・Use a “certified infection prevention restaurant or café” when you gather with your friends, etc. to dine or meet as much as possible.
・It should be no more than four people and no more than two hours if you use a restaurant/café that is not certified as infection prevention restaurant (incl. home, etc.).

2. Wearing A Mask
・ It is recommended not to wear a mask outside during summertime to prevent heatstroke if you can keep enough physical distancing or during PE classes and athletic club activities.
Reference: Wearing masks in outdoor/indoor (Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare website, Japanese webpage only)

3. Extracurricular Activities (Club Activities)
・For extracurricular activities, a separate notice will be sent to representatives and faculty advisors of extracurricular activity groups, so please follow the instructions.
