Responses of the University to the change of the countermeasures taken by the Okinawa Prefectural Government

June 4, 2021

To Students, Faculty and Staff Members:

Risk Management Headquarters
(for COVID-19 Infection Control)
University of the Ryukyus

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of you for your understanding and cooperation to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In response to the spread of COVID-19 infections in the prefecture, the countermeasures regarding the state of emergency base on the Special Measures Law taken by the Okinawa Prefectural Government was changed.

In our university, we already announced the “Responses of the University to the countermeasures taken by the Okinawa Prefectural Government regrading the state of emergency based on the Special Measures Law” dated on May 23 and asked students and faculty/staff members to engage in activities while paying attention to the prevention measures against infection.  We, the University, consider the situations of infection in Okinawa seriously and strongly request students and faculty/staff members once again to alert for the prevention measures against infection.

We have decided to maintain the same level of the restrictions on activities for preventing the spread of COVID-19, after reviewed the change of the countermeasures taken by the Prefectural Government.  However, we still need to seriously consider the situations of infection in the prefecture and would like to take measures to shift from face-to-face lectures to online lectures in order to minimize contacts among people.

Further notices may be given if it is necessary to take other measures.

※ A notice regarding the measures for the Attached Elementary School and Junior High School will be given separately.
