RE: Balancing the Implementation of Sports Club Activities, Etc. With Measures Against COVID-19 Infection, and Taking a COVID-19 Test and Vaccination When Going Back Home During the New Year Holidays
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of you for your understanding and cooperation to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Japan Sports Agency and the COVID-19 Information and Resources of Cabinet Secretariat have requested to inform you of the following main points.
(1) Wear mask properly except during sports activities. Do not participate in activities if you have any symptoms of illness. And ensure basic infection control measures with reference to the Japan Association for University Athletics and Sports (UNIVAS) Guidelines for Resumption of University Sports Activities, “UNIVAS大学スポーツ活動再開ガイドライン (*Japanese only).”
(2) Take COVID-19 tests before going back home and after coming back from home
(There are more than 13,000 free testing locations nationwide.)
(3) Consider getting an Omicron-targeted COVID-19 vaccine.
Although the number of new cases of COVID-19 infection in the prefecture is relatively low compared to the other prefectures, an increase in infection is expected at the end of the year and the beginning of the new year, and there is also concern about a simultaneous outbreak of seasonal influenza.
Therefore, in preparation for the case of infection and home treatment, please confirm in advance how to receive medical attention, undergo medical examinations, or contact the university, and continue to take infection control measures.
