To Students, Faculty and Staff Members:

Risk Management Headquarters
(for COVID-19 Infection Control)
University of the Ryukyus

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of you for your understanding and cooperation to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Based on the countermeasures taken by the Okinawa Prefectural Government regarding the state of emergency based on the Special Measures Law issued on May 23, we, the University, requested students and faculty/staff members to act appropriately according to the measures.  We have decided to shift some face-to-face courses to online lecture since May 27 and suspended extra-curricular activities.  Furthermore, according to the changes of the countermeasures taken by the Okinawa Prefectural Government on June 3, we made the announcement about the measures to promote online lectures.

These measures were scheduled to be effective until June 20 (in case the state of emergency was extended, the measures would be extended accordingly).

Since the Okinawa Prefectural Government has decided to extend the state of emergency until July 11, these measures by the University are also retained.

The measures are as follows:

〇 Lectures
Those lectures shifted from face-to-face to online lectures on or after May 27, they will be provided online until July 11.

〇 Extra-curricular activities
Activities will be suspended until July 11.
※Concerning extra-curricular activities on and after July 12, it will be announced at an appropriate time.

〇 Student activities and working system for staff members:
We ask students and staff members to keep following the measures “Responses of the University to the countermeasures taken by the Okinawa Prefectural Government regarding the state of emergency based on the Special Measures Law” issued by the Risk Management Headquaters of the University on May 23.
