University of the Ryukyus
It was confirmed that members of the University were infected with COVID-19.
The information confirmed and the measures taken by the University are as follows:
・Number of person(s) infected: Two persons
・Status: Students
・The infections of the above two individuals are not related each other.
・The Public Health Center in charge are now investigating and making confirmation about movements of the infected persons.
・According to action history of one of these infected persons confirmed so far, the University implemented disinfection of the facilities. For university members who are considered as “close contacts”, we are now conducting PCR tests and so on.
・At this point, it is confirmed that there is no case of secondary infection connected to this case.
We sincerely hope that those who are undergoing medical treatment will recover from illness as soon as possible.
We would like to ask each one of you for your understanding and consideration for respect for human rights as well as protection of personal information for infected persons and their families.
We would like to continue to make our efforts to prevent the spread of the infection in the University as well as in the local communities.
