University of the Ryukyus
It was confirmed that members of the University were infected with COVID-19.
The information confirmed and the measures taken by the University are as follows:
・Number of person(s) infected: Two persons
・Status: Students
・This case occurred within the same group of people who acted together. The Public Health Center in charge investigated and made confirmation about movements of the infected persons.
・According to histories of actions of the infected persons confirmed so far, there was no university member who was considered as a “close contact”. It was not necessary to implement disinfection in the university facilities.
・At this point, it is confirmed that there is no case of secondary infection connected to this case.
We would like to ask each one of you for your understanding and consideration for respect for human rights as well as protection of personal information for infected persons and their families.
We would like to continue to make our efforts to prevent the spread of the infection in the University as well as in the local communities.
