University of the Ryukyus
On August 25 (Tue.), it was confirmed that a member of the University was infected with COVID-19. The information confirmed and the measures taken by the University are as follows:
・Number of person(s) infected: One person
・Status: Student
・The Public Health Center in charge is now investigating and making confirmation about movements of the infected person, and also contacting persons who need to stand by at home.
・At this point, it is confirmed that this case has no relation to the past infection cases occurred in the University. It is also confirmed that it is not necessary to close the facilities or implement disinfection in the campus.
The University has confirmed four cases of COVID-19 infection until today, including this case. We sincerely hope that they will recover from illness as soon as possible.
Anybody could become one of the infected persons tomorrow. We would like to ask each one of you for your understanding and consideration for respect for human rights as well as protection of personal information for infected persons and their families.
To date, the University has been taking various measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, in accordance with the government policies and so on. We would like to continue to make our efforts to prevent the spread of the infection in the University as well as in the local communities.
