Measures of Restrictions on Activities on Campus (starting on May 21, 2020)

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff Members,

This is to announce that the measures of restrictions on activities on campus (except the University Hospital) are going to be changed as stated below.
Please note that the measures of restrictions may be changed depending on the situations about the new coronavirus infection in Japan or in Okinawa.  In that case, a notice will be given by emails and through the university’s official website.  Please check updated information frequently.
We, as the university that contributes to the local community, have been taking necessary measures in order to secure health and safety for students, faculty and staff members of our university, as well as to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection in Okinawa.  Your patience and understanding are appreciated.

【Measures of Restriction on Activities on Campus (except the University Hospital)】

1. Starting Date: Starting on May 21 (Thu.), 2020

2. Contents of Restrictions:

  Opening the Gates: All gates on campus will be open.

Entering the Campus: Permitted to enter the campus, while paying due attention to prevention of the spread of infection, such as avoiding “Thee Cs”:
1. Closed spaces with poor ventilation
2. Crowded places with many people nearby
3. Close-contact settings such as close-range conversations

Lectures and Practical Classes: In principal, only online lectures can be provided.
※In principle, students are requested to attend online lectures at home.  In case students don’t have internet environment (or have difficulty in using internet), they are allowed to use designated classrooms on campus where internet access is available.

Club/Circle Activities: All club/circle activities are prohibited.

Research Activities: Limited to research activities which are necessary to be continuously implemented.
※ Faculty members need to conduct research activities while taking necessary measures to prevent the spread of infection.
※ Graduate students are allowed to conduct research activities with the most careful attention, while taking necessary measures to prevent the spread of infection by and receiving guidance from  academic advisors.

Others: Matters to be considered are as follows:
※ Please do not engage in prohibited activities and refrain from activities as instructed in the Warning for New Coronavirus Infection.
※ Please be aware of requests for voluntary restraint and cooperation from Okinawa Prefecture to residents.
