The aim of the Faculty of Medicine is to cultivate researchers, physicians, and health science specialists who are not only equipped with knowledge and technical skills in the medical and health sciences, but are also mindful of medical ethics and are able to cope flexibly with advances in medical science.

Taking into consideration the unique natural environment, geographical location and historical characteristics of Okinawa, the faculty is committed to tackling regionally-unique issues such as the establishment of a locally-based, self-contained model of medical treatment catered to island environments. In addition, the faculty consistently aims to engage in international academic exchange and healthcare primarily centered in Asia and the South Pacific region.
