The Elementary and Secondary School Teacher Training Program trains future elementary, junior high school, and special needs education school teachers. Students who have completed this program will either obtain a first-class elementary school teaching certificate, or a first-class junior high school teaching certificate. The Faculty of Education provides an education with a regional focus as students are taught to incorporate local materials into their teaching methods. To integrate theory with practice and enhance practical teaching skills, the faculty recommends students to actively volunteer in the field. With these efforts, the faculty aims to nurture teachers who are well-versed not only in their teaching subjects but are also adequately equipped as mentors to their students. Graduates of the faculty have gone on to serve in the education field in Okinawa or in their respective hometowns. In recent years, an increasing number of students have also chosen to take the teacher employment examination in the Kanto region.
