REGULATION CONCERNING UNIVERSITY CLASSES AND FINAL EXAMINATIONS IN THE EVENT OF A TYPHOON WARNING
Clause 1:
This regulation stipulates the procedures to be taken with regards to university classes and final examinations in the event that a typhoon warning is issued.
Clause 2:
To ensure safety, all university classes will be suspended once a typhoon warning comes into effect. Final examinations shall be postponed to the auxiliary date.
Clause 3:
During the auxiliary period, final examinations shall be held over the required number of weekdays immediately after the official end of the original examination period.
Clause 4:
Following the deactivation of a typhoon warning, the University shall revert to the normal schedule for all classes and final examinations one hour after the deactivation. However, in the event that typhoon warnings are deactivated after 3.00p.m., all remaining classes and final examinations scheduled in the day (up until the fifth period) will continue to be suspended and/or postponed. For typhoon warnings deactivated after 6.30 p.m., all classes and final examination scheduled in the night (between the sixth and eighth periods) will continue to be suspended and/or postponed.
Supplementary Provision (16th December 2003)
The above regulation has been implemented on 16th December, 2003.

In the event of an approaching typhoon, please pay attention to radio and television broadcasts for updates and information on typhoon conditions.
Illustrations Concerning the Regulation:
(1) In the event that a typhoon warning is lifted before 7.30 a.m., the University shall revert to the normal schedule for all classes and final examinations one hour later, i.e. from 8.30 a.m. In this case, classes will proceed as normal from the first period onwards.

(2) In the event that a typhoon warning is lifted after 7.31 a.m., the University shall revert to the normal schedule for all classes and final examinations one hour later, i.e. from 8.31 a.m. In this case, classes shall be resumed from the second period (from 10.20 a.m.) onwards.

Note: The University shall follow the official announcement times of activation and deactivation of typhoon warnings by the Okinawa Meteorological Agency.
