Academic Symposium and Mini Concert “Song and Dance of the Bunun, Taiwan Indigenous People”

On July 1st (Saturday), an academic symposium and mini concert titled “Song and Dance of the Bunun, Taiwan Indigenous People”, organized by Associate Professor Emi Okada of the Faulty of Education, was held at the University Hall.

A total of 28 students and teaching staff from Jianshan Elementary School of Taoyuan, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan came to the University, and engaged students with a symposium that spoke about how the traditional language, culture and performance arts of the indigenous Bunun people of Taiwan are being passed down to today’s generation of Bunun children. After the symposium, students enjoyed a mini concert staged by the Jianshan elementary school students.
