The Electrical and Electronics Engineering student awarded
the IEEE IES Student Scholarship
Mr. Kenichi Tanaka in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering and Science, University of the Ryukyus student was awarded by the IEEE IES (Industrial Electronics Society)Student Scholarship from the 2009 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE 2009).
The IEEE IES Student Scholarship was awarded for students with the best-qualified papers according with the review of international conference on ISIE 2009 with the aim of incentive for student paper presentation in international conference.
The awarded paper title is "Decentralized Voltage Control in Distribution Systems by Controlling Reactive Power of Inverters". This paper proposes a decentralized control method of voltage profile in a distribution system using reactive power control of interfaced inverters with distributed generators.
For the award, Mr. Tanaka said "I owe what I am now to Prof. Senjyu and laboratory members. I want to devote myself to the future study by encouraging this award."
