This course was established in 1978 to improve the educational situation of special-needs children. The course is targeted at those who have graduated from university and have acquired a general teaching certificate for kindergarten, elementary, junior high, or high school. Students on this course can earn a first class teaching certificate for a special support school by taking several specialized subjects in one year.

This course has a practical and theoretical curriculum for special support education. By way of example, this curriculum includes courses on education, psychology, and physiology for special support education. Also, students are required to do both research and practice teaching in a special support school.
